Welcome to The Students’ Union at UWE. Every student at UWE Bristol automatically becomes a member of The Students’ Union when they start university, which means we have more than 30,000 members.
We are led by students, for students, with our elected Presidents and Officers representing you in shaping The Students’ Union policy. They run campaigns and attend meetings at various levels of the University to make sure your views are heard. They also work with a team of staff to enrich your university experience by giving you as many opportunities as possible while at UWE Bristol.
This includes over 160 sports clubs and societies for you to get involved with, ranging from Aero to Windsurf. We also have a range of national, faith and identity societies which are a great way to meet people with the same interests or beliefs. What’s more, if you can’t find a group that suits you, we’ll help you make one.
We also run exciting events throughout the year, ranging from club nights to crafting sessions that are sure to keep you entertained.
If you want to drive change on your course or around campus, you can represent the student voice by becoming one of our 1,000 Student Reps, or create a Student Idea for your peers to vote on, then we work on making it a reality.
If you are passionate about a social issue or cause, we have a range of campaigns or student groups that you can get involved with, such as The Green Team or Women’s History Month. We also have lots of volunteering or job opportunities to help you bolster your CV.
If that’s not enough we also run shops and cafes on Frenchay, Glenside and City Campus which are great places to grab a drink or bite to eat, or just have fun with friends.
