Over Your Welcome Period;
There have been 12 successful events over the Welcome Period at Bower ranging from craft and pottery activities to the Bower Welcome Fair. Approximately 800 students engaged and the feedback has been fantastic, we have even had Frenchay and Glenside students coming down to Bower for the regular engagement activities.
Our Bower Welcome Fair which engaged over 500 students included an exciting Spray Paint workshop, an opportunity for students to get their bikes fixed by Dr Bike, free pizza, free vegan brownies and around 30 stalls from The Students’ Union, UWE Bristol and other Bristol-based charities’ and organisations such as Spike Island. Our ‘Sustainability Hub’ was a hub for all thing’s sustainability. A clothing swap shop and the Green Team’s ‘what does sustainability mean to you’ bunting painting exercise were just a few elements of this hub during the fair. City Campus students fed back that they were excited for their Welcome Fair and it delivered everything they wanted, complete with Hula Hooping from UWE Move! We are currently planning the next one for 1st October 2024, so make sure you come along!
