UWE Boxing Club has something to offer for everyone. All levels of experience are welcome from complete beginner to advanced. We offer non-contact and competition training under two boxing coaches.
Welcome to UWE Boxing Club - A community of students dedicated to honing our skills and enhancing our fitness. Established in 2022, our club has quickly become a hub for students seeking the exhilaration of boxing, regardless of their experience level.
With five weekly sessions strategically spread across the week (schedule at the bottom of this page), we make it easy for you to fit boxing into your busy student schedule. From sessions at the University's Centre for Sport to specialised training with a personal trainer at UWE’s Performance Gym, and even sessions at the renowned Bristol Boxing Gym, home to numerous national and world champions, we've got your boxing and fitness needs covered. These sessions are all included in your membership costs! YOU MUST HAVE A MEMBERSHIP TO PARTAKE UNLESS TAKING PART IN A TASTER SESSION.
At the helm of our Friday sessions is none other than former British light-welterweight champion, Darren "Ammo" Hamilton. His expertise and guidance have massively elevated the skills of our members, ensuring that whether you're a beginner or seasoned boxer, there's always room to improve.
We pride ourselves on offering competition-level training while providing the option for non-contact participation for those who prefer to focus on fitness without sparring.
Boxing is a great workout - expect to see significant improvements in your cardiovascular health, strength, and agility as you train with us.

When it comes to competitions, we're no strangers to success. From white-collar events like Bristol Student Fight Night and Ultra White Collar Boxing to amateur competitions such as BUCS, we enter our fighters into a range of skill-level tournaments. Our track record speaks for itself, with notable achievements including (but definitely not limited to) semi-finals in BUCS competitions, and massive success in Bristol Student Fight Night (including 2 huge TKO wins!)

Yes, you'll need clothes you can work out in (no jeans etc). You also need to buy your own gloves (16 Oz for Sparring), wraps and gum sheilds. You can find these cheap on Amazon, we have some spares while you wait for them to be delivered!

The Tuesday technical sparring class is ran and organised by Darren and Bristol Boxing Gym, we have no involvement with it what-so-ever, other then that we recommend it as a good opportunity to learn a lot from someone who knows a lot. If you have any questions about this class, please direct them to Darren at the Friday morning session.
