President/ Vice-President:
Oversees the daily operations of the club and ensures that the committee are fulfilling their roles.
Answers all questions and queries from members as well as external communications sent on the club's social media platforms.
Liaise with the Student's Union about club developments and operations.
Oversees club timetables, auditions, choreographers, and squad captains for the year.
Treasurer
Oversees club budgets from the start of the year and updates club incomes/ outcomes as the year progresses.
Advises the President, Vice-President, and captains on budgets for venue hires, competitions, and costumes.
Participation & Equality Officer
Organizes the club's competitions and is the main point of contact between UWE Dance and external competition coordinators. Discusses potential competitions, budgets, and entry requirements with the President, Vice-President, and Treasurer.
Events Officer
Organizes the club's social events, (e.g. Christmas meal and 'Sports Does Strictly').
Liaises with external event coordinators to plan socials around the club's schedule and discusses these with the President and Vice-President.
Equipment and Safety Officer
Collating medical forms at the start of the academic year from all squad members and is responsible for transporting the First Aid Kit provided by the university to competitions and off-site events (such as the showcase). The candidate for this role is typically First Aid trained.
Media and Publicity Officer
Has access to all social media platforms and is responsible for safeguarding all of our online accounts.
Posts weekly class updates, produces content on behalf of the club and communicates with other UWE social media accounts.
Updates our Student Union website where necessary and liaises with the UWE marketing team to promote the club.
Sustainability Officer
Organises and encourages our members to take part in UWE's 'Greener Futures' initiative. Sets sustainability goals for the club and ensures that UWE Dance operates as sustainable as possible.
Fundraising Officer
Works closely with the Events Officer on charity and fundraising events e.g. 'Sports Does Strictly', Charity Bingo.
Actively finds ways to raise money for the club and pitches ideas to the President and Vice-President.
Show Coordinator
Organises our annual end-of-year showcase.
This entails booking the venue for the show, arranging the running order of performances, organising studio and rehearsal times, and sourcing adequate videographers, photographers, and tech support.
Mental Health Officer
Complete a mental health training course provided by the university.
Be available to all club members if they need support and provide resources/ offer advice where necessary.
