INTRODUCTION TO UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL
Here at UWE we have four competitive teams that, every Wednesday, play in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Leagues against various other Universities in the South West Region. We also involve ourselves in cup competitions annually and look forward to competing against University of Bristol in Varsity at the end of the season. We are also bringing in a development squad, to give students an opportunity to train with us and be a part of the club within the social aspect too.
Training takes place on Monday and Thursday evening's and these will begin on the 7th October when trials are completed. Monday's @ Lockleaze Sports Centre - 2nd & 3rd Teams train 18:00 - 20:00 Monday's @ Lockleaze Sports Centre - 1st & 4th Teams train 20:00 - 22:00 Thursday's @ Hillside Gardens - All Teams train 19:30 - 21:00
BUCS Games are all played on wednesday afternoons. Home games are all hosted at Lockleaze, and for away games, a bus is always provided for transport.
Your UWE Men's Football fee will cover a range of different things throughout the football season. The most important thing is your BUCS payment; your fee will totally cover the cost of playing in the BUCS league ensuring that you can have a full season of football. Your fee will also cover the cost of kit package. In this package you'll be given home top, shorts and socks as well as a training jumper. We have three other kits used for away games that are shared between the four teams every week which you'll also get to use. As well as kit and BUCS fees, you'll also be covered for travel to and from matches. Whether we're playing someone as local as Bath or a side further away such as Exeter, you'll be covered on coach travel. All teams will have coaches arranged for them ready to leave from Frenchay Campus on away days. Venues cost a lot of money to run, especially with us training twice weekly and paying matches at Lockleaze most week. Your fees will also cover the cost of renting out the 4G pitches. Finally, your fees will fund some socials. With money left over we're always keen to arrange socials and days out as a team. For example, in the last few years we've made it a habit of getting together and going to the races. This is something we'd be keen to do again when possible.

As a football club, we are always looking to liase with event companies and organise days out that bring the whole club together. Previously, the club have attended events such as Cheltenham Races and Invades parties. We believe that having a strong social standpoint is the bakcbone of our club, and this collectiveness is what brings us together and helps us to play better on the pitch.
WHERE AND WHEN
PamPam is the place to be on a Wednesday night in Bristol, especially with your respective sports team. UWE Men's Football will once again feature in the VIP section of the go to club for UWE Sports Teams after their Wednesday night fixtures. Our social secretaries will be working hard to organise a number of themed night's throughout the year. Previously we've had Oktoberfest, Halloween, White Shirt Parties, Christmas Doos and a number of other fancy dress nights.
Following on from the last two years, the club aim to go on tour in the Easter break. This is a tour to Croatia with ILOVETOUR, including 4 nights stay at a resort, with 1,000 other university students from different universities sports teams, from all over the country.
