Our members come from all backgrounds of gymnastics including acrobatic and artistic, we’ve also had free-runners too. We are entirely open to all abilities, whether you are just looking for a sport to make friends, want to restart a childhood hobby or completely start from scratch!

We welcome new members of any age, sex and ability, throughout the club we have a large range of skills amongst our members, from people who have only just started gymnastics this year and people who have been competing for years. All newbies are encouraged to come along and try out the club because we are very welcoming and our coaches will help you learn the skills you want in a safe environment.
Our main training sessions are held at Bristol Hawks Gymnastics Club, the home of Olympic Gymnast Claudia Fragapane. Our sessions are run by Level 3+ coaches and allow full use of all gymnastics equipment.
Our sessions times are as follows:
Every Wednesday- 14:30 - 16:00
This facility is able to be reached by bus routes from both Frenchay and Glenside campuses by the 46. As well as several bus routes from the city centre for those based there such as 46, 48 and 49. The nearest stop is Robertson Road, which is about a 5 minute walk from the gymnastics facility.
There is also a train station nearby called Stapleton Road, which is about a 3 minute walk from the facility. It runs frequent trains to Filton Abbey Wood, Redland and Bristol Temple Meads.
This price gets you training for the whole year, every Wednesday at a world class facility. Training is coached by fully qualified coaches. The sessions are structured for you to learn skills safely and effectively whilst remaining free for your choice to try what you wish. You will also receive a UWE Gymnastics T-shirt with every membership (when ordered by the end of October). You also get access to attend all of our social events throughout the year!
This membership is intended for those who wish to compete with the team at competitions, includes everything in the Standard Membership. This also includes discounted entry fees and travel fees to five UGC Competitions and BUCS.
Competitions are not a mandatory part of joining the club, but just a fun extra way to bond as a team, meet people from other universities and travel the country with your friends. Competitions are open to all abilities from beginner to national standard, our coaches and Captain can help to support you in making routines and finding out which level would suit you best.
We have two main competition leagues which we compete in and these are BUCS, (British University Championships) and the University Gymnastics Cup.
We have competed at BUCS for the last 7 years. We have achieved many positions and rankings up to 1st place in some of our categories and two individual medals in the Elite FIG competiton. BUCS dates for the 2024/25 academic year are 1st-2nd February 2025.

The University Gymnastics Cup is split into two regional leagues and we compete in the South League. This usually consists of four regional competitions and national finals at the end of the season. We have achieved several medals across the levels in the 23/24 season including some individual South League medals. Any level of gymnast is welcome to compete and the team is supportive of everyone who wants to compete and we always have fun at competitions. Check out their website for more information about the competitions.

We are a very social club and have something suited for everyone, from the traditional sports night or sober socials to places such as Ninja Warrior, team meals and bowling. Drinking is never forced or compulsory at any social and we have members who don’t drink who attend sports night, everyone is welcome to attend. Often we will have pre drinks before moving to Vice, where the UWE sports student night is held.
