UWE Netball is the largest female club at UWE with 4 competitive BUCS teams who compete every Wednesday against other universities. We also have Move, a social netball club which welcomes everyone.
UWE Netball Club is the perfect opportunity to enhance your netball skills in a fun, competitive environment, whilst also meeting new people and making friends for life.
We are the largest female sports club here at UWE with 4 competitive teams, all of which compete in the BUCS competition:
https://www.bucs.org.uk/sports-page/netball.html
Our teams currently compete in the following leagues and divisions:
1st Team – Western Tier 2b
2nd Team – Western Tier 3a
3rd Team – Western Tier 4a
4th Team – Western Tier 5a
Teams that we regularly compete against include Exeter, Bristol, Bath, Southampton, Winchester and many more.
We have fixtures on Wednesdays and these can either be played at home, in the Centre for Sport, or away at our competitor’s chosen venue.
Training takes place on a Monday night at the Centre for Sport:
1s and 2s: 18:30 - 20:30
3s and 4s: 20:30 - 22:30
The whole club also takes part in conditioning sessions bright and early on a Friday morning at 7:30!
This is a social netballing community for people who want to get involved and enjoy netball in a more relaxed environment. Their teams do not compete in BUCS however friendly matches are organised against other social teams. For more information please contact @uwesocialnetball now on Instagram.
PSA - MOVE Social Netball & all MOVE Sports are free for all members of UWE. You can access these sessions on the UWE Sport App.

This is an annual competition where all sports compete against a University of Bristol team for the varsity champion title.
Team UWE come together to support each other in various sporting events and matches, however, Varsity Netball is by far the best!!
UWE Netball compete against The University of Bristol's 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams; our biggest and most fun event of the year. 2020 displayed how close the competition can be amongst all teams, but the most impressive result being the UWE 1st team who smashed their varsity game, winning for the FIFTH year in a row!!
Varsity 2024 was slightly different, seeing UWE host against University of South Wales. It was a great event and the netball was a brilliantly contested game, with USW unfortunately taking the win.
Club socials are on Wednesday nights after BUCS fixtures and are not to be missed!
This year we are concentrating massively on socialising all 4 club teams together as well as joining with the newly incorporated Social Netball (MOVE programme) to ensure we ALL have the biggest and best nights out!
Pam Pams is our chosen venue for sports nights and it never ever fails to deliver! Themed and fancy dress nights are a regular occurence with initiations being a great laugh and a brilliant way of welcoming the netball newbies to our club.
As well as Wednesday night socials, this year as a club will be focusing on providing a range of different socials to suit everyone. These will include meals out, day activities and much more. We are always welcome to new ideas!
