Ultimate Frisbee Code of Practice 2022
Throughout the year, we compete in several competitions! For those who are new to the sport, we hold beginner tournaments at the start of the year. These tournaments really allow you to get a taste of what it's like to play a proper competitive game while still being able to make tons of mistakes and learn the rules. We fully recommend new players or players who haven't played frisbee for a long time to go to these tournaments, as you gain so much experience and passion for the sport. Experienced players will accompany the beginners, so you get as much support as you need.
.
For those who have played for longer and have more experience, indoor and outdoor tournaments are available throughout the year. Specifically, a big tournament of the year is Regionals, where teams of women's, men's, and mixed play to reach Nationals. Additionally, every Wednesday, there is an outdoor BUCS league between all universities in the West Midlands. This league goes on for a few months. Furthermore, as we have close ties to Ultimate Frisbee clubs around Bristol, we often participate in mini-tournaments organized by these clubs or us and play fun, friendly games with them. Overall, tournaments are a great way to have a lot of fun and enjoy the amazing sport of Ultimate Frisbee!!
Socials are always a highlight for every member as they bring us all together as a team, and most importantly, they are extremely fun! We do socials every other Wednesday, so keep your Wednesdays open if you join us. Our socials vary every time, from fancy dress to eating, activities, pub crawls, movie nights, and so much more. Additionally, we have amazing Christmas events with awards, a lot of dancing, and even possibly singing!
So if you like what you see and you want to join us, follow our social media accounts and visit our stall at the Fresher's Fair to get all the details regarding our first training of the 24/25 season. If you do have any questions, don't hesitate to message us on Instagram or Facebook, as we are most active on those, and one of our committee members will be able to answer all your Frisbee queries. Additionally, you can just go up and ask in person at the Freshers Fair, as we would love to answer any questions you have and have a chat with you!!
