The Students’ Union at UWE regularly welcomes visiting speakers to its campuses and to events in person and online. Such speakers have brought and continue to bring great diversity of experience, insight and opinion, enriching our events and activities and sparking discussion and debate among our students.
The Students’ Union at UWE is committed to facilitating debate and discussion to further the extra-curricular development of our students and to support student groups in inviting external speakers to their events to contribute the dialogue.
The external speakers’ policy is a Students’ Union Policy that means that any external speakers that come into speak to students or student groups must first be approved.
An ‘External speaker’ is any individual or organisation who is not a student or staff member at UWE or The Students’ Union at UWE. If someone who is not a student or staff member at UWE and has a platform to speak to any UWE student they are classed as an External Speaker. This includes stalls, pop-ups, online events, physical events on and off UWE's campus site.
This form must be submitted a minimum of 14 days in advance of the date of the event. Forms arriving after this time will not be approved.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS ONLINE FORM IS THE ONLY FORM THAT WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR EXTERNAL SPEAKERS.
