Why I am the Best Candidate

I am dedicated to making student life at UWE Bristol more inclusive, engaging and supportive. With my experience as a Student Ambassador and Student Project Developer, I have obtained an understanding of concerns and needs of students across various campuses. My Dedication to student welfare, representation and community building make me the ideal candidate to become your next SU President.

Experience and Leadership:

• Student Ambassador: I have been representing UWE at events, helping students, and promoting university initiatives.
• Student Project Developer: I am currently working on a student-focused project to enhance both the academic and social experiences at UWE.

My Key Priorities and Targets:

1.    Mental Health & Wellbeing Support:

• I will be expanding counselling and peer-support initiatives with the vice president community and welfare to make sure that students have easy access to mental health resources.
• Introducing well-being check-ins and awareness campaigns across all campuses.
• Organizing a monthly stress reliefs activities such as mindfulness sessions and community meetups.

2.    Enhancing Student Employability:

• I will develop more career mentorship programs and networking opportunities.
• Partnering with local businesses to create more internship and job placement opportunities for students.
• Providing entrepreneurship hub workshops on freelancing, starting businesses, and networking

3.    Addressing Cost of Living & Financial Challenges:

• I would like to campaign for more affordable accommodation/housing and increased financial aid.
• Working on expanding the available of subsidised food and transport for students.

4.    Sustainability & Community Initiatives:

• Introducing more green initiatives across UWE campuses through the Green Team, including sustainable transport solution and practical workshops that engage students with sustainability-related topic such as environmental justice, sustainable transport, and more.
• Strengthening partnerships for sustainable projects that benefit both students and the local community.

My goal is to strengthen the Students’ Union and make it more inclusive and student focused organization. If I am elected, I will put in endless effort to guarantee that every student at UWE Bristol is heard, supported and made an exceptional use of their time at UWE.
