What experiences make me the best candidate?
If this were a snapshot of my CV, here’s what you need to know:
📍 SU Experience – I work in SU Commercial Services, so you’ve probably seen me at the Glenside or Frenchay shop (say hi next time!). Working closely with students daily gives me a unique insight into campus life and what you need from your SU.
🎓 Proud UWE Representative – As a Student Ambassador, I represent UWE at open days and school visits, engaging with new students and sharing my passion for our community.
📢 Student Voice Advocate – I serve as a Student Rep for my Accounting & Finance degree, ensuring that student concerns are heard and addressed—just as I’ll do for societies if elected!
💬 Approachable & Hardworking – I’m an extrovert (confirmed by my friends!) and want to be someone you feel comfortable coming to with any issue. I’ll go the extra mile to support societies and ensure your voice is heard.
Let’s make societies stronger, more inclusive, and more connected—together!
What my key priorities and targets are if I were successful in being elected
1. Ensure all campuses (City, Glenside, and Frenchay) are equally engaged and have access to events and societies
University should be exciting and inclusive for all— I will ensure that events are organised on all campuses so that everyone is involved and has the same level of experience! If I am elected, you will definitely see me roaming around the SU on all 3 campuses engaging with students!
2. Catering to every student!
I want to ensure that societies at UWE host events that truly reflect the diverse interests and backgrounds of our student body. If there’s an event you’d love to see but feel isn’t being offered, I will make sure your voice is heard!
- Student Event Suggestions Platform – I will introduce an anonymous (or named) suggestion tab where students can submit event ideas they’d love to see. I will personally review submissions weekly and work with relevant societies to bring them to life.
- Direct Collaboration with Societies – I will meet with societies to discuss student requests and support them in organizing more inclusive and varied events, ensuring no group feels left out.
- Targeted Support for Underrepresented Groups – I will prioritize requests from underrepresented student communities, ensuring societies create welcoming spaces for all backgrounds, identities, and interests.
3. Help raise awareness of events to increase the number of students that engage in all societies
A lot of the time you're probably unaware of different societies and what UWE has to offer. Let me help you market your society or help students find their ideal society!
4. Financing and Budgets!!
My Accounting and Finance degree wasn’t for nothing haha. I will make sure I work closely with societies to assist them in acquiring more funding from events or possibly even collaborations with SU commercial services!
5. BIG SOCIETIES EVENT!
I want to introduce a major end-of-semester showcase where societies can express their creativity, gain recognition, and raise funds for future activities.
- Showcase & Engage – Societies can host performances, stalls, or interactive activities, from live shows to cultural displays, giving students a fun way to explore new interests.
- Fundraising Opportunity – Societies can sell tickets, run donation-based activities, or offer merchandise, helping them generate funds for future events.
- Boosting Visibility & Memberships – This event will increase society exposure, attract new members, and create an exciting tradition that celebrates student talent.
