Hi! My name is Harper and I am running for the position of Trans Welfare Officer in this years student elections.

My manifesto objectives

1. Ensure all UWE Staff are trained on how to promote, foster and sustain Trans inclusive environments which also extend beyond the lecture hall e.g. residential and field trips.
2. Create financial support for Trans students to purchase gender-affirming items such as binders and tuck underwear.
3. Campaign for LGBTQ+ drop in counselling sessions to receive mental health support.
4. Produce free resources on how Trans students can access local services to receive gender-affirming care.

Experience & skills

I successfully established and operated a charity for Trans youth in which I advocated to local schools, government and public services on how to foster Trans-inclusive environments. I have also participated in media outreach activism with notable UK trans charities. This experience provides me with real-world advocacy and outreach skills.
