Dear Fellow Students,
Democracy is the foundation of a strong and united student community. But for democracy to truly work, every voice must be heard, and every vote must count.
Hello Everyone! I’m Ubaid Ullah, currently pursuing an MSc in Environmental Management at UWE. My passion for student leadership, governance, and fair representation has driven me to work on youth engagement, policymaking, and social change. Now, I want to bring that experience to make UWE’s SU democratic systems more engaging, accessible, and student-driven.
Why Am I the Right Choice?
With years of experience in leadership, advocacy, and student engagement, I understand what it takes to create a fair, transparent, and inclusive democratic environment.
Some of my experiences:
- President, Pak Youth Parliament
Led democratic initiatives and policy discussions, ensuring youth voices were heard.
As the President of Pal Youth Parliament, I have worked on engaging young people in democratic processes and policy-making.
- Internal Outreach Officer
At Student Union UWE Welfare Committee my role as an Internal Outreach Officer has allowed me to connect with students, ensuring their concerns are represented, and also connected students with the SU and encouraged active participation.
At UWE as a Student Representative of my University Program I Represented student voices, ensuring academic concerns and feedback were addressed.
At Youth Impact Pakistan organization I worked as a trainer and Conducted leadership and governance training to empower students.
Through these roles, I’ve worked with diverse communities, ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in decision-making.
*My Priorities as Democratic Procedures Officer*
1.Make Democracy More Accessible & Engaging:
Organize interactive workshops and awareness campaigns to educate students on their role in UWE’s Student Union democracy.
Improve communication strategies to simplify election processes and Student Ideas.
Ensure that every student, regardless of background, feels represented and empowered.
2.Ensure Fairness & Transparency in Elections & Student Ideas:
Monitor all democratic processes to uphold fairness, integrity, and student-led decision-making.
Encourage more students from diverse backgrounds to step up for leadership roles.
Work closely with Student Union staff to ensure all votes and student-led initiatives are handled transparently.
3.Strengthen & Modernize Democratic Procedures
Gather regular student feedback and propose meaningful improvements to Bye-Laws.
Ensure Student Council meetings run efficiently and fairly, giving all students a voice.
Advocate for new digital and interactive ways to make student participation easier.
