Turning Up for Change!

Why I Am the Best Candidate for This Role

I am a resolute advocate for justice, equity, and representation for the Global Majority, with a strong track record of creating impactful change both within and beyond the university. As a Race Equity Advocate for the College of Health and Social Sciences (CHSS), I have worked tirelessly to challenge systemic inequalities and ensure that BME students have a voice in key conversations.

Beyond my role at UWE, I am the founder of Mose Social Rising CIC, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering marginalised communities through creative and social initiatives using the Equality Act 2010 as a guiding framework to create safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces. Under this umbrella, I run:

  • Solidarity in Sound – Bristol’s first Global Majority Choir, providing a space for cultural expression, healing, and unity.
  • Living for the Streetz! – An award-nominated LGBTQ+ radio show (now transitioning into a podcast), shedding light on individuals working to uplift and represent the community locally, nationally, and internationally.

My work extends into entrepreneurial and professional development spaces as well. After the success of my Black History Entrepreneur Networking Event, this February I will be running the LGBTQ+ Entrepreneur Speed Networking event through Student Ventures, as well as a Voguing Workshop, celebrating ballroom culture and its deep-rooted history in resistance and self-expression.

Through Sunflower Collective C.I.C, which I also co-founded I work with African and Caribbean children (ages 5-15), teaching conflict resolution through Forest School principals, breaking academic and creative barriers while connecting them with UWE alumni and current students from the Global Majority to inspire future generations.
