As part of ongoing “Celebrating Culture” campaign, The Students’ Union at UWE present this Spoken Word Slam on the theme of “Can You Hear Me? A Celebration of Cultural Identities” held at the Drama Theatre located on Bower Ashton Campus.
The event aims to celebrate Black History Month and features incredible artists: Malaika Kegode, Sophia Harari, Saili Katebe and Sambee.
You can sign up for the slam in two ways:
1. Send an email to SUBower@uwe.ac.uk with the subject Poetry Slam and, in the email, include your Name and Student Number. 2. Attend the "Can You Hear Me?" Poetry Workshop and sign up in person.
Make sure to grab a slot as there are AMAZING PRIZES TO BE WON!
This event is open to everyone, regardless of identity, to come and speak, sing, whoop, and cheer!
We will also have Jikoni, a Bristol Based food truck on site with delicious East African food available, and live illustrators documenting the event!
