A block shared space -Bower Ashton Campus, Kennel Lodge Road Bristol BS3 2JT.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Our repair café is coming to Bower! Repair Cafe offers students, staff and members of the public the chance to have their broken items fixed! It’s run by students and community repair volunteers and supported by technicians and academic staff. Items that can be repaired may include electricals and small appliances, clothes, and anything that can be glued, soldered, or stitched. Please note that we don’t currently have the capacity to fix phones and other devices, we recommend to contact Fix My Crack in the Sustainability Hub for these repairs.
Please note that this is a voluntary service: all repairs are done at your discretion, so there is no guarantee that your item will be fixed. Repair Cafes are all about skill sharing and community, so please feel free to ask lots of questions!
You can also get involved as a repairer. Please contact kat.corbett@uwe.ac.uk for more info on how to join the team!
WHERE TO FIND US:
HOW TO SIGN UP:
When you first arrive, please come to the “check-in desk” to book your item in for repair. This is to help us keep a record of how much waste is saved from landfill, and we are also aiming to calculate the carbon footprint where relevant data is available. Once checked in, you can take a seat in the waiting area until it’s your turn. Feel free to bring your lunch, as long as you keep it away from the work area!
There will be free tea / instant coffee and biscuits to sustain you. (As our mugs are limited we recommend bringing your own, if you can!)
INCLUSIVITY:
We welcome all abilities/ disabilities, ages, ethnicities, and gender into our spaces. If you have any questions, concerns or additional requirements then please let us know so that we can make your time at this event as comfortable as possible.
