Mon 04 November 2024 17:00-19:30
Meeting Room 1, The Students' Union, Frenchay Campus
WHEN:
Monday 4th November 5 – 7:30pm
WHAT TO EXPECT:
What happened when a small group of protests in Germany built a camp in the canopy of their local forest to protect it from deforestation? To stop the expansion of a large gravel pit?
Join us to watch a documentary and talk to the filmmakers and protesters involved to find out more about their activist community and their creative and continuous campaign.
Together we will question the creative methods of protest and the difficulties the community faces.
Come along on Wednesday 6th November from 5-7pm for a participatory "Intro into Activism" workshop which will follow on from this film and will explore how we too can get involved in making change. You don't need to attend both, all are welcome!
Bring your friends, snacks and placards!
This event is part of Green Fortnight, our annual festival of eco ideas, events, and smart living, which will take place from October 28th to November 10th, 2024. You can find out more information here: https://www.thestudentsunion.co.uk/getinvolved/thegreenteam/getinvolved/greenfortnight/
