The Welcome programme settles new and returning students back into the UWE Bristol community and includes a huge range of events and activities, for example the two-day Freshers Fair, Glenside and Bower Welcome Fairs, Speed Friending, Club Nights and much more.
The Students' Union at UWE are looking for UWE students who will be available to work the Welcome programme from the start of September through to mid-October 2024.
Welcome Reps (30 Positions)
Welcome Rep shifts will be available on weekdays, evenings, and weekends throughout September and into the first weeks of October 2024.
Shifts will vary in length from around 2 hours up to 9 hours.
*Please note that as Rep positions are casual student staff positions. This means that shifts will be offered to you, and you can offer to pick up shifts dependant on your individual availability, so work can fit around your study and personal commitments.
Welcome Reps will need knowledge of at least one of the UWE campus sites and an understanding of The Students' Union at UWE and our offering to students.
We are looking for students with a can-do attitude who are willing to take on a variety of tasks to make the 2024 Welcome events programme a success.

Full training will be provided, this includes manual handling and health and safety training. You will also receive briefings for any shifts that you offer to work and as mentioned above, you can offer to work the shifts that appeal to you!

*We are looking for students who actively want to work and want to contribute to a successful Welcome programme.
Please only apply if you are looking to work a number of hours each week throughout September and into early October 2024!
Start Date: 9th September 2024
*Please note that you must be available in-person, to work in Bristol from this date
Rate of Pay: £12.00 per hour
*Please note this hourly rate will be inflated to include holiday pay

We will be holding 2 training sessions for successful Welcome Reps; it will be mandatory to attend one of the following sessions, please ensure you are available to attend at least one of the following dates ahead of applying:
Late Night Do It Right Reps (15 Positions)
Late Night Do It Right (LNDIR), Shifts will be available on 4 key weekend dates in September 2024 (dates TBC). We are looking for LNDIR Reps to support these 4 events!
Shifts will usually be from 9.00pm-3.00am, one of the events will be based on Frenchay campus and the other 3 events will be held at affiliate night clubs in the Bristol City Centre.
We are looking for students with a can-do attitude who are willing to take on a variety of tasks to make the 2024 Late Night Do It Right Programme a success.
We recruit Late Night Do It Right Reps to:
Full training will be provided, this includes manual handling and health and safety training. You will also receive briefings for any shifts that you offer to work.
* Late Night Do It Right Reps will have a supervisor present. In addition, you will also have club security and safeguarding in place and the postholders are not expected to support beyond the wellbeing initiative that is Late Night Do It Right.
*We are looking for students who actively want to work and want to contribute to a successful Welcome programme, so if you would like to be a LNDIR Rep ideally you can work the 4 key dates.
We will be holding 2 training sessions for successful Reps; it will be mandatory to attend one of the following sessions, please ensure you are available to attend at least one of the following dates ahead of applying:
Application Information
You can apply to be BOTH a Welcome Rep and a Late Night Do It Right Rep, or for just one of the positions.
We will conduct Group Interviews for both positions combined, so you can also change your mind and offer to work, or decide not work either position following the Group Interview (if you are invited to attend).
To apply for any of our Welcome roles you must be available to work from the 9th September 2024 (in-person, in Bristol), through to early October, these are temporary casual positions and they will end in Mid-October 2024.
