The Students’ Union and UWE Bristol were successful in their applications for Best Fairtrade Café or Restaurant at the South West Fairtrade Awards last week, winning two Gold Awards for the Fairtrade Coffee cart in the Hub (which was also overall winner of the category) and Phaz Café on Frenchay Campus.
This is a great achievement for both services, who work in partnership with UWE Hospitality who provide the goods and The Students’ Union who provide the staff.
The awards were attended by Sustainability Engagement Co-ordinator at UWE Bristol, Vicki Harris, and Vice President Education of The Students’ Union, Jamie Jordon.
Vicki commented: “It was very good to be there representing UWE and The SU and supporting this important agenda for the city.”
UWE Bristol also won a Gold Award for Best University or College in recognition of the work done by the university and The Students’ Union.
