Are you ready to vote?
The announcement has been made and the General Election will be taking place on 4 July. Here’ what you need to do now…
If you’re a UK citizen and over the age of 16 you will be eligible to vote in the next general election.
But did you know that many of our international students will also be able to vote. This includes those from most Commonwealth countries, as long as you are now a resident in the UK

Are you registered to vote? At your current address? It's worth double-checking, and if not, get yourself registered ASAP! This is especially important if you’ve just moved out of accommodation, or will be moving soon.
Students who study away from home can register in both their home and university locations, but will only be able to vote in one.
You only have until 18 June and it takes less than five minutes to register.

You need to have valid photo ID to cast your vote in-person. This includes a passport, biometric residence permit (BRP) or drivers license, but NOT student ID.
Don't have one? That's okay - you can get a FREE photo ID card provided by CitizenCard, and you can use it all across Bristol, not just for voting.
