From Monday 23 October at 10:00 to Thursday 26 October at 22:00, students were given the opportunity to choose seven NUS Delegates and four new part time officers.
The National Union of Students (NUS) is a national organisation representing around 7 million students, which researches and campaigns on student issues. These range from the BME attainment gap to issues facing student sex workers. National Delegates will attend a conference focusing on general issues facing students such as the cost-of-living crisis and mental health. Liberation Conference Delegates will attend a conference with a stronger focus upon structural issues such as period poverty and Prevent.
The recent by elections have also decided several vacant Part Time Officer roles; BME Officer, International Students Officer, LGBT+ Officer, Trans Welfare Officer, and Democratic Procedures Officers. Each winner is a student who takes up the role on a voluntary basis, and each has a specific role or focus and work closely with The Students' Union to improve the student experience. These Officers will be responsible for championing the voices of associated groups at UWE. You can find your other part time officers by going to this link.
We still have a vacancy for Postgraduate Students Officer and would welcome expressions of interest. This form will be open until 17th November.
