The last weekend in November was a really exciting weekend for us, as the Representation Team and I organised The Students’ Union third Reps Conference, with sessions delivered by academic staff, non-academic staff and externals.
The conference aimed to equip reps with new skills and experiences to take them onto the next level of student representation and to help upskill and prepare them for when they graduate. The sessions included goal setting and project management, personal development 101, careers coaching, are student reps enterprising, networking for beginners, promoting sustainability and women in leadership.
Many thanks to Hannah Tucker, Roshin Chummun and Will Hoskin for working hard to make sure the event was a success. And of course, a huge thank you to all of our speakers and attendees for devoting their Saturday to be with us!
On 11 November, 70 Student Reps joined The Students’ Union Representation Team for the first Rep Committee of the year. The Meeting included a session from Tracey Horton, around academic regulations, and the Representation Team ran a workshop on assessment feedback. Some of the highlights from this section include; lack of consistency across the cohorts and the need for more detailed feedback links to study skills, library workshop, voice, video and possibly more 1:1 feedback).
I am currently conducting a survey to get your feedback on whether UWE Bristol students would find the introduction on naps pods on campus beneficial. You can complete the survey here.
