On Saturday 19 October, ten teams took on The Students’ Union first ever LOST. At 04:00 teams were transported to an unknown location, 100 miles from UWE Bristol, with no money and just 12 hours to get back to campus.
Teams were dropped in Weymouth and needed to fundraise or rely on the goodwill of the general public to make enough money to get back to campus. They also had challenges along the way, which if completed, would allow them to take time off of their final score.
Challenges included; taking a selfie with two different animals, proposing to a stranger and joining a birthday party or wedding. Teams certainly got into the spirit of the challenge, and the residents of Weymouth had a Saturday to remember.
Teams did an amazing job, with over half getting to UWE Bristol for free, and the other half managing to raise enough to get back. Methods of transport back to UWE Bristol included; hitchhiking, the train, and busking to pay for one rogue bus that went to Bristol once a day.
Well done to all of our teams, who managed to get back to campus within the 12 hours and to our winner's Team Buns on the Run. We are delighted to announce that a combined total of £3401 was raised for Bristol Mind!
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported LOST and again well done to our challengers who made the first LOST one to remember!
We’ve got a whole load of RAG events lined up including the return of Jailbreak, our epic international challenge, which sees students get as far away from UWE Bristol as they can in 36 hours. Click here for information.
