2023 Welcome wristbands are out now! We've got a very exciting calendar of events in store...
This year, Welcome Week is taking place 16 – 23 September and we are back with an amazing programme which we’ll be revealing soon.
There will be some amazing nights at Bristol’s best night clubs (including our very own Union 2). But if clubbing isn’t your thing, fear not! We also have plenty of exciting day time events in store such as coffee cake and crafting, community garden sessions and all sorts of student meet ups for you to make new friends.
We’re still putting the finishing touches to our Welcome programme, but in the meantime we’re super thrilled to announce that wristbands of our paid events are out now!
If you’re unsure which events to attend or you’re keen to try a bit of everything, why not get yourself a wristband? Welcome Wristbands are essentially your all access pass to one of the best weeks of your life.
The internet is a crowded place, and you will encounter unofficial UWE Welcome events (that pretend to be official) so to avoid any confusion, our events will:
We do not offer a refund unless you are not coming to UWE.
To be eligible for a refund you will need to send proof to suevents@uwe.ac.uk. This can be a screenshot of your acceptance into another university or alternatively, proof of being declined from UWE.
You can get proof through the UCAS website by logging into your account: https://www.ucas.com/students/apply
Wristbands will be available for collection from the main reception desk of The Students' Union building on Frenchay Campus, 15:00 - 19:00 every day from Thursday 14 until Tuesday 19 September (including weekends).
Our Freshers’ Fair is one of the biggest in the country and is your chance to experience everything that is on offer during your time at university.
This year the Freshers’ Fair is taking place on 27 and 28 September in and around The Students’ Union on Frenchay Campus, so pencil that in your calendar so you don’t miss the fun. It is a free event, open to new and returning students.
You’ll get to chat to sports clubs and societies ranging from Baking and Drama to Netball and Gliding. It’s also a chance to meet the people that represent you at university and *spoiler alert*, bag yourself free pizza and tons of other freebies!
The Glenside Campus Welcome Fair will take place on 19 September, with the City Campus Fair on 3 October, so you’ll get plenty of opportunities to see what’s in store for you.
There’s only one Official UWE Freshers’ Facebook group you need to join – THIS ONE! This is the place where we’ll share our campaigns, activities and events for you to get involved in. Most importantly, it’s a place for you to chat with other students, share tips about your course or accommodation, ask for advice, and meet likeminded people.
Bristol is a lively city with many transportation options to help you get around easily. Whether you
