We are delighted to confirm that for two weeks UWE Bristol will have its very own pop-up charity shop. Positioned on F Block patio (opposite OneZone) this is a chance to get some new bits for your house. From clothes to household items, we are sure to have something for everyone!

The pop-up shop has been stocked with items from the Bristol Big Give, which is a collaboration between UWE Bristol and the University of Bristol. The campaign encourages people to donate unwanted items, instead of throwing them away, and building waste. It then distributes items to the British Heart Foundation, as well as other local charities. This year, the campaign raised a massive £330,820 and has prevented over 184,700 kg of unwanted items going to the landfill – this is the equivalent of 684 silverback gorillas!

By supporting the charity shop, you will not only bag yourself some bargains and be shopping sustainably, but you’ll also be supporting the British Heart Foundation and the vital work that they do. You can also continue supporting their work throughout the year by donating your unwanted items and taking them to one of the permanent British Heart Foundation bins in The Students’ Union and around campus.

So, if you’re looking to do some serious bargain hunting, grab your housemates and head on down to the pop-up shop!
