Don't risk losing your Deposit! Sell it, Donate it, Recycle it, Bin it!
If it ain't broke, don't bin it. Turn your pre-loved stuff into cash and fund your summer fun! (Better for the environment and your bank balance). Try selling your items on Depop, Gumtree, eBay, Vinted and Facebook marketplace.
Got a good quality, pre-loved item but don't have time to sell it? Donate it instead!
1) Click here to view a map of Bristol's charity shops (a lot of them can be found on Gloucester Road).
2) You can also donate items to Bristol Waste Reuse Shops. There's one every recycling centre!
3) Donate your spare tech – make a difference by recycling or donating tech you don't need to the Digital Inclusion Scheme. Or put it in OMS Tech's secure drop-off point in the Sustainability Hub. OMS Tech will take tech in any condition.
4) Or you can find Bristol Big Give donation banks on campus.
If you can't rehome something, check if it can be recycled. Recycling is an important step in the waste hierarchy and there are lots of easy ways to do it in Bristol:
Can't rehome it or recycle it? Start sorting early to avoid a stressful moving day. Use your waste bin, an on-street Students On The Move bin or hire an extra large bin from us with your student discount. Leaving waste on the pavement could land you with a hefty fine and put your deposit at risk.
