In recent weeks you have expressed the financial impact that COVID-19 has had on you, especially in terms of meeting the demands of paying rent. To help with any discussions, Precious, The Students' Union President, has produced a letter template, with the support of the team, which you can send to help voice your concerns.
We know that this a difficult time for landlords as well, but the welfare of students is our number one priority.
Many universities including UWE Bristol and organisations such as UNITE have understood the financial pressure this is having and is supporting students by releasing them from their contracts if they choose. We know that some landlords have offered up to a 50% discount to students for the next few months, which is a great step forward.
Precious has also reached out to MPs Darren Jones and Jack Lopresti expressing our concern and asking for support.
