VP Sport & Health Term 2 Updates
ποΈ National Lobby Day β A Win for Students!
Last year, we joined NUS National Lobby Day in Westminster, where we met with MPs Karin Smyth, Carla Denyer, and Claire Hazelgrove to fight for student rights. One of the biggest victories? Major improvements in the Renters' Rights Bill!
π Victory for Renters!
Thanks to our efforts, the updated bill now: β Bans landlords from demanding multiple months of rent upfront β Prevents students from being locked into rental agreements more than six months in advance
This is a huge step toward fairer housing for students struggling with rising rent and limited options!
β½ BUCS Southwest Regional Meeting β Improving University Sports!
At the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Regional Meeting in Bath, we collaborated with other universities to discuss ways to improve university sports. Our focus? More inclusivity, better facilities, and increased participation in student sports across the region.
π Refreshers' Week β Getting More Students Involved!
Our Sports Club stall at Refreshers' Fair was a massive success! We introduced students to sports opportunities on campus.
