The First Love Society is dedicated to fostering a thriving and inclusive community at UWE. With the primary objective of holding weekly meetings that attract students from diverse backgrounds, we aim to create an environment that is open and welcoming to all, irrespective of their faith or belief system. Our overarching mission is to enhance, encourage and develop the students of UWE Bristol both academically and spiritually, through an array of opportunities for growth and advancement throughout the academic year. By offering a range of meticulously curated activities, we strive to provide a well-rounded experience that nurtures personal and academic development amongst our members.
We believe in the power of fostering social connections and building lasting relationships. To this end, we organize a plethora of social events including games nights, movie screenings, cultural celebrations, Bible studies, and collaborative projects with other student societies. These occasions provide students with opportunities to connect, share experiences, and forge meaningful bonds that extend beyond the academic sphere.
At the heart of our approach lies a commitment to inclusivity and diversity, recognising the inherent value that comes from engaging with individuals from various backgrounds. By cultivating a sense of belonging and understanding amongst our student body, we aim to create an environment that celebrates difference and encourages collaboration.
Throughout the year, our society endeavours to provide a platform for academic and spiritual growth through numerous carefully planned initiatives. Trips include Joint meeting with other First Love societies at different universities across the UK.

All we ask is for students to come to the First Love Society with an open mind and demonstrate a level of commitment to attending the events and activities we host across the year.
Recognising the importance of mentorship and guidance, we have established a mentorship program that pairs experienced senior students or alumni with younger or less experienced students. Through this program, we provide invaluable support, academic mentoring, and career advice, allowing students to benefit from the wisdom and insights of those who have traversed similar paths.
