We run our paid memberships through Bristol SU, so if you want a paid membership, you'll need to buy it there and just grab the free one here.
This is for anyone that wants to play for the club at tournaments and fixtures, and attend training sessions. Premier Social Membership is included with this membership. Your Player Membership covers the cost of equipment and the club's affiliation with QUK.
We welcome both students and non-students with memberships for each respective group:
Social membership is for those who want to be in the "hoop". With this membership you will be added to our Facebook group, Messenger chat, and -new this year- the "Brizzle Lounge" Discord space, where we will host online socials. (Please note if you wish to train regularly you will need to purchase a Player Membership, which includes a Premier Social Membership.)
There are two tiers of social membership:
With our membership upgrades, you are free to upgrade your premier social membership to a player membership, without repaying the cost of the social membership.
If you are a Puff alumni and you would like to keep up to date with us while supporting our members then this is the membership for you! The whole cost of this membership will contribute towards a fund that will help reduce financial barriers preventing our members from enjoying quidditch, and to say thank you we will add you to our online circles so that you can stay in the "hoop".
We run our club organisation through FB and Discord, so the quickest way of getting the most out of your membership is messaging our club FB page to say that you have it, and we will then add you to all the relevant FB groups.
IMPORTANT - we don't always get notified of new members. We check our member list regularly to stop people falling through the cracks, but please if you don't hear from us to be added to our communication channels, just message us on social media and we will get you sorted out immediately.
I’m Jasmine (she/her), a chaser/seeker on the team and your president. That means that I will be keeping track of all the boring stuff to keep the club running while making sure you get to experience all the fun activities and socials throughout the year! Joining the club last year has brought me so much joy and I wish to give you the same positive experience that I had! To another great year of Quadball and bringing the Bristol Bears to BQC again!!
Hi, I'm Sasha and I am the captain of the club! My job is to keep up the morale and high spirits both on and off pitch, ensuring that everyone gets what they want from the training sessions and making sure they are happy and heard. I am a very enthusiastic person and am always happy to hear from anyone with suggestions or ideas so let me know! I play mostly chaser and seeker on pitch however I love playing other positions just as much. As captain I have great ambition to get us far in tournaments whilst staying true to our friendly and fun loving nature of the club. So whether you want to come and have a laugh or compete to your hearts desire, I've got your back.
O hello there!
My name is Sam (she/her) and I'm coach of Bristol Quadball Club. I'm a computer science PhD student at UoB, and I've been playing quadball since I joined this club during my undergraduate back in 2016. I've enjoyed playing nationally and internationally, for Team Scotland and this club when we made it to the European Quadball Cup. I hope to use my years of experience playing and connections to the wider community to make Bristol a competitive side this year!
But don't worry I won't forget about the doss! There will be brizzle-breaks, pizza boxes and double napalms. My goal is for everyone to thoroughly enjoy playing quadball and have fun! Maybe picking up a medal along the way.
Hi there!
I'm Corey (he/him) and this year I'll be staying in my current position as social secretary of Bristol Quadball Club. I'm an aerospace engineering student at UWE and I've been playing quadball since October 2021.
I’ve only been part of the quadball community for a short time but they have been some of the best months of my life! I've met so many amazing people and been on some amazing trips with the club.
This year, I hope to continue organising many fantastic social events so we can grow as a tight-knit community and club. Hope to see you all there!
Hello Dear Reader
My name is the Right Reverand, Professor, Sir William George Ivo Barker (Any pronouns) though please, call me Billy. I am the social media officer for the Bristol Quadball Club with my main jobs being posting weekly pictures from our training and memes every Monday, with other jobs including announcements on the various social media sites. I have been playing quadball for a few years now though only been with Bristol for one year however this year I have met so many incredible new faces to the sport and helped them learn more about quadball and watched them perform amazingly throughout all their games this year. Bristol is a special team and each of its members are going to go far in this sport, and I will enjoy posting embarrassing pictures of them in their early days for as long as I can.
Hello! I'm Chris (he/him) and I'm your secretary for another year. I handle the club's communications, maintain documentation and fill in forms, take minutes during meeting, keep you up to date in with any important information, and generally try and keep things organised and help the rest of the committee do an awesome job. I came to Bristol way back in 2012 to do Comp Sci, and have been working here ever since I graduated in 2017. This will be my third season playing quadball, after starting during the covid years, and I'm excited to see where things go. On pitch I normally play as keeper now, and enjoy looking at the more strategic side of the game.
Hello! I'm Cameron and I'm your UWE rep! I handle communications from UWESU. I'll also help out with recruitment drives. This is my 3rd year playing Quadball. On pitch, I normally play as chaser. If you're looking to join our club, I'd say go for it. Everybody is so welcoming and the community is very supportive.
Quiadball is at a really exciting stage in its growth. The sport is big enough to boast events like a World Cup, while still being small enough that playing at such international events is an achievable goal.
Yes! Quadball is an inclusive sport where teams are made up of males, females and everyone in between. We even have a gender rule that ensures that there is always a mix of people on pitch.
No. The club has plenty of communal brooms, but you can bring your own if you want.
Not at all! Most people have never played quadball before, so rest assured we will teach you everything you need to know.
Feel free to send us a message on Facebook.
