Extra Information: Healthy eating is vital to improve mental health as well as overall health and improve confidence etc. Especially at university where students mainly struggle being away from home and cooking for the first time, also money is limited for students so free would be more beneficial and more likely to increase popularity.

Actions Taken

  • This idea opened on 4th February 2020 and closed for voting on 9th March.
  • This ideas received a 3rd and so will go to the next Executive for review.

  • This idea has passed through the Executive and Student Council and will go to the Trustee Board to be scrutinised.

  • April 2021: This idea has been deemed a win as The SU run free cooking sessions as part of different campaigns. HallsLife periodically run cook-along sessions throughout the year, usually through Instagram live. The Sustainability Committee have also run cook-along sessions as part of the 'Let's Talk Trash' campaign and are looking to make it a regular event. The next step for this idea will be work to make the sessions more regular and to promote them more to students.
