    In October 2019 The Students’ Union opened our zero waste section in the U Block Shop, Frenchay Campus. Stocking a range of ethical, sustainable options and the opportunity to shop zero waste. 

    Due to the success of The Students’ Union’s zero waste shop at Frenchay Campus, there are now plans to install a similar shop at Bower Ashton! If you have any ideas about what you’d like to see at this please let us know by emailing thegreenteam@uwe.ac.uk.

    How it works

    This is the process of using refillable containers at the shop:

    1. weigh the empty container
    2. fill it with loose products
    3. weigh them again
    4. pay at the till

    Did you know all our unpackaged, refillable products are also cheaper than any packaged alternatives we sell? This is a fantastic way to save money while also saving the planet!

    What we sell

    Here is a selection of the products sold in the zero waste shop. We have everything from oats to washing up liquid and more!

    Most of our products are sourced from Suma, one of the largest co-operatives in Europe. A 100% vegetarian company, they only consider GM-free and cruelty-free products. With a focus on organic, fair trade and eco-friendly products Suma are championing a sustainable and equitable business model.

    • Recycled notebooks made from 100% recycled materials, and the notebook itself is 100% recyclable.
    • Notebooks made from chalk, creating stone paper. This is available as a notebook or a ‘vegan leather’ covered journal.
    • We sell refillable pens from Pilot as part of their Frixion erasable pen range, and also offer their B2P pen – a pen made entirely from recycled plastic bottles!

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    About Ecoleaf 

    The whole range is derived from plant extracts and based on biodegradable and non-hazardous ingredients. None of the of the Ecoleaf range contains parabens, triclosan or phthalates. All the products are made in the UK, are Vegan Society certified and animal cruelty-free.
