MEGAN GRIFFITHS (SHE/THEY)
My main priority in this role is to listen to and amplify the voices of all disabled students here at UWE. Building a community promotes transparency and open communication. So that we can all help learn from each other with our past life experiences to help reduce stereotyping and stigma.
I pledge to raise awareness of mental health issues. Many students at UWE are struggling as the wellbeing team is stretched to the maximum capacity. I wish to provide workshops to discuss support options and strengthen the communication between UWE's disability and well-being services to ensure students remain informed.
I plan to hold disabled focus groups where members' current needs and wants are represented through different methods of talking with students. To help identify structural factors impacting students' well-being and welfare and build a strong community.
