Here at The Students’ Union at UWE, we deeply value the dedication and hard work of our Student Representatives. Serving as a Student Rep is not only an important role in ensuring the voices of students are heard, but also one that comes with numerous rewards and recognition opportunities.
To be a Student Rep, you must attend a training session. Every May, you receive a digital certificate as a thank you for your valuable contributions and to recognise you as a Student Rep. However, if you wanted to take your impact further and be rewarded to a higher standard, here is how you can achieve it!
You have the opportunity to earn a certificate for bronze, silver and gold levels. Through carrying out these tasks, you are not only creating lasting impact for students to come, but also being recognised and rewarded for your efforts!
If you achieve gold this academic year, you will be recognised in The Student Experience Awards which takes place every May.
Attend at least two of these meetings. Submit evidence, such as:
Attend at least one of meeting with your Lead School Rep or LSR and Student Rep Catch Up events. These events will take place after your SRSF/PMC meetings and before LSRs attend School Boards of Study. It is important for LSRs to represent the views of students across all their programmes within their school. Submit evidence, such as:
Attend at least one Student Rep Conference, three happen every academic year. They are chaired by your VP Education and enable you to meet Student Reps from across different programmes and schools. It is a great way to hear about UWE updates and gain ideas for your role!

Being a Student Rep can develop and showcase your skills in leadership and communication. The Students’ Union at UWE is offering Masterclass workshops for Students Reps to enhance your skills and support your CV building.

The Student Experience Awards celebrates the outstanding contributions of students and staff to the university learning and teaching community and student experience. These awards recognize achievements in various areas, including academics, community involvement, and well-being. Student Representatives are specifically honoured through the Outstanding Student Rep Awards, which highlight their dedication to representing their peers and making significant contributions to positive change within their programmes, Schools and Colleges.
